This year’s Pride Parade in Stockholm on August 1 attracted a crowd of more than 350 000 people. Among the 35 000 parade particpants were Baquetum who contributed with great energy and Brazilian rhythms. ” I had goose bumps during the whole parade,” said a girl who walked ahead of us during the three hour long parade. This year, Baquetum wore green accessories and ribbons to show support for democracy in Iran and the issues surrounding the gay community there. See photos from the parade.

Baquetum once again joins the Pride Parade on August 1 in Stockholm. For the third year in a row, we will contribute with energy, loud drums and Brazilian rhythms in the parade, consisting of 10 000 participants. Last year, the parade attracted a crowd of over 100 000 people who came to enjoy the colorful parade. The parade starts at Engelbrektsgatan at 1 p.m. and ends in Tantolunden at approximate 4 p.m. Don’t miss us!

On June 27, Baquetum supported a good cause by performing for Amnesty at Medborgarplatsen in Stockholm. The act was part of Amnesty International’s global campaign on the theme “Human Dignity”. Starting at 11 a.m. at an half-empty square, we woke up fellow citizens with drums and Amnesty representatives’ speeches. After an hour, we had attracted a mixed audience of sleepy Stockholmers, kids and dancing characters. For more photos from this performance, go to Photos.
